Feed Antioxidant
To prevent or reduce oxidantion in animal feeds.
Ingredient
Ethoxyquin, Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), Citric Acid, Tert- butylhyoquinone, Calcium carbonate, Silicon dioxide.
Apperance
Light yellow to light brown powder with slight odor of acid, loose and smooth.
Direction
Oxidation is the irreversible chemical reaction in which oxygen reacts with feed and feed components. The oxidation of feed ingredients is a common problem in the feed industry.
Their negative effects of oxidation in feed, and subsequently on livestock, can be summarized as:
1) Breakdown/degradation of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K
2) Breakdown/degradation of oils, fats and pigments
3) Breakdown of fat-soluble vitamins
4) Loss of palatability
5) Loss of energy
6) Development of toxic metabolites
Feeding oxidized feed to animals can result in decreased animal health and performance. Therefore it is crucial to prevent oxidation of feed and feed ingredients
The main benefits of these solid or liquid feed additives are:
1) Prolonged product shelf-life through ingredient stabilization.
2) Protection of nutritional value and organoleptic quality.
3) Highly efficient synergistic combinations of (natural) antioxidants with chelators.
4) Maximal dispersion and effectivity of the antioxidant through optimal physical properties
Dosage
The dosage should be properly adjusted according to the water contents, storage periods of the feed relative humidity and temperature of the environment.
For your reference.
100 to 300 ppm in finished feed.
